Before you build•Before you raise•Before you spend
You have an idea, and you’re about to commit real time and money to it. Before that happens, you want to know what it will cost, how long it will take, and where it is likely to go wrong.
Or you already have a product, you’re preparing to raise, and the investor’s technical reviewer is coming.
Often, founders have solid knowledge of their market and customers, but not of the technology necessary to build their product. Unfortunately this is also what most of their money will be spent on, and going in blind can lead to a lot of unnecessary expense on tech that may or may not be the most suitable or cost-effective for their business.
This is where I come in. I help founders turn ideas into products while avoiding expensive surprises further down the line. I do this by helping them understand the technical side of their business, guiding them in what to build, how much it will cost and who should build it, and getting them ready for investor scrutiny.
Can this product actually be built? What are the risks? What should be validated first? What does an MVP look like? These are often the most important questions a founder can answer before spending significant time or money.
I help you create technology strategy, roadmaps, technology sections of business plans, investor deck content and technical due diligence preparation.
I actively build and release products, develop prototypes and MVPs, work alongside teams, and provide CTO-level leadership where required.
Depending on the stage you are in, I offer a wide range of services, including a Technical Feasibility Review and Technical Due Diligence Readiness.
It starts with a call, at no cost, to work out what is actually needed. If you go ahead, the whole engagement asks for around half a day of your time. See how an engagement works →
I’ve been a startup founder, CTO and hands-on software builder. Over the last 30 years I’ve worked with businesses at every stage, from early-stage startups and App Store products through to large SaaS platforms, growth-stage companies and multinational organisations.
I’m still actively building and releasing products today. That means the advice I give is grounded in current technology, practical delivery experience, and the realities of getting products into customers’ hands. It also means I work with the same tools and practices modern development teams are adopting, including AI-assisted development where it adds genuine value.
